A Warriors Initiation to Ares

A Warrior’s Initiation to Ares When doing this dedication/initiation to Lord Ares, it is assumed that a proper shrine or altar has been erected in the Deities’ honour and sanctified in the proper manner The Ritual *Wash hands in khernips, and then kneel on one knee before the shrine Of Ares.* I kneel before the great Lord Ares Khrysopelex, father to Phobos, Deimos, Harmonia and Enyalius, eternal and devoted Lover and brother of Aphrodite and Enyo. I kindly ask for your strength, courage, wisdom, and guidance as I now dedicate myself into your service as a Warrior of Ares. * Recite Homeric Hymn 8 to Ares.* *Hold your choice of weapon aloft* Let my sword/dagger/gun/et cetera be blessed by you, as a weaponto protect those whom I love and hold dear. The Ethnic Hellenes of Greece Finally Get the Recognition they Deserve

Image
It is our greatest pleasure and Joy to say that on April the 9th 2017 the Supreme Council of Ethinc Hellenes (YSEE- Ypato Symboilio Ellinon Ethnikon), a religious organisation who was and still is to this day trying to restore the indegenous religion of Greece had put out a statement declaring that Greek Polytheism has now received Legal status in Greece . Prior to this day the Greek people of Greece and the organisation did not have any religious freedom such as the ability to buy land, build temples of worship nor could Helleni clergy perform legal marriages ceremonies.  So for all of us who are Ethnic and Non Ethnic Greek Hellenic Polytheists around the world, so it is a day of great joy, comfort, to hear this news. While this statement has not been made aware to everyone, it is our duty as Hellenic Polytheists to "Spread the Word" and Thank Olympus for their Blessings. All i have to say is , that i can now hold my head that little bit higher knowing that Helleni...

Ritual Opening of a Shrine: To Ares

Being a  devotee of Ares  I have come to acknowledge and connect with him as my "Spiritual Father". Recently I had written a Opening Shrine Ritual in honour of Ares for the upcoming devotional Dauntless by Biblioteca Alexandria, and I wanted to share it with you, in the hopes that you as a Hellenic Polytheist can understand that Ares is not as "horrible and scary" as some might have you to think. So by doing this Ritual if you are so inclined to do so,  will undoubtedly help you gain a better connection and understanding with him as a God in his own right ; and who knows.. maybe he may even introduce to his lovers such as Aphrodite and Enyo (bet you didn't know he had another lover eh?....).   When setting up the ritual Space you will need a space to place your Shrine, which can be a shelf or any flat surface providing its clean:  * A depiction of Ares God of War ( can be a statue or Google photo),  * Altar cloth (if desired preferably crimson red...

Book Review: From the Roaring Deep

From the Roaring Deep: A Devotional in Honor of Poseidon and the Spirits of the Sea This is a great book for those of us who are worshipers of Poseidon or for those of us who wish to get a closer connection to our Lord, and the spirits of the Sea. Brimming with many prayers, poems, essays and stories and a ritual or two together with a few pictures, by many different authors, it would be a great addition to your Hellenic Library as well as a great help in your Devotionals to the Sea God, his wife Amphitrite and all the spirits of the Sea. I would give this book a 9*/10*. A friend of mine purchased this book for me for Christmas Last year for which I was very grateful for . being  devotee of Poseidon for quite soem time now , I felt a calling to wrte up a prayer in his honour.    If you wish to join my Facebook group, then please head on over to the "Shrine of Poseidon" whereby we welcome all new "Atlantean Warriors" of Poseidon far and wide, from whatever bac...

Today marks a very sad day for myself as I was given the sad news that my Gran passed away in the very early hours of this morning. So Rest in Peace , dearest Granny who was one of the greatest gran I could ever have . she will be happily remembered. Bye bye granny, You will always be in my heart for as long as I live, you will be very sorely missed, but you shall now be in a happier place with your daughter, my mummy . Today I say goodbye to the most strongest woman I know. My dearest Granny, Joy Mostyn  Those who knew her, knew her well Those who loved her, loved her well.  But I will always remember and love her for what she meant to me and my family.  She invited us to her home and made us welcome  We were grateful Now that she is gone  We are ever more grateful now for the love and kindness she has shown us So I say, farewell granny, may the Gods now keep you safe  And guide you to your happy place where ever that may be. ...

Delphic maxim #5 Be overcome with justice

Delphic Maxim #5 Be Overcome With Justice This is not as easy and straightforward as it sounds. In fact this can be a controvecial subject to say the least. Justice is something that is being shouting the loudest in the world , form the Suffragette movement back in the late 19th century to the early 20th century  to the LGBT rights movement of today amongst others movements inbetween. To be overcome with justice take a lot of courage , especially if one attends rallies and such in public. To be overcome means to have a strong feeling of what one deems right for yourself or for the group of people you represent, and demanding those who have done wrong be dealt punishment, be it prison, capital punishment and the like. However there is a thin line of course between demanding justice in a peaceful manner and a violent one. The violent ones are the ones that can have dreadful repercussions for those involved and those who are not , resulting in injuries ans even death in some circu...

Delphic Maxim #6 Know what you have learned

This one is pretty straight forward in what it means. when we learn something , we know it and are therefore able to teach others what we have learned. In other words , If you don't learn or know it how can you be abel to understand it? This is how i understand it. Yet teaching others is also another way of learning. Everyone learns at differnt speeds and in differnt ways. Some people learn by teh following ways active learning (doing) Listening  & writng Reading /studying Many folk including myself learn through doing a specific task in order to learn how to do said task, for example if you are building a house in lego, the easiest way is to either to be shown or do it yourself. Others may be able to just take instruction and know how instantly, yet many find this method difficult and can thus slow ones ability to learn quickly.  it is all about experience. Sure someone can rattle off a textbook back to front , but do they actually know and understadn what they are...
