A Sad Day this Day

Image
Today marks a very sad day for myself as I was given the sad news that my Gran passed away in the very early hours of this morning. So Rest in Peace , dearest Granny who was one of the greatest gran I could ever have . she will be happily remembered. Bye bye granny, You will always be in my heart for as long as I live, you will be very sorely missed, but you shall now be in a happier place with your daughter, my mummy . Today I say goodbye to the most strongest woman I know. My dearest Granny, Joy Mostyn  Those who knew her, knew her well Those who loved her, loved her well.  But I will always remember and love her for what she meant to me and my family.  She invited us to her home and made us welcome  We were grateful Now that she is gone  We are ever more grateful now for the love and kindness she has shown us So I say, farewell granny, may the Gods now keep you safe  And guide you to your happy place where ever that may be. ...

Delphic maxim #5 Be overcome with justice

Delphic Maxim #5 Be Overcome With Justice This is not as easy and straightforward as it sounds. In fact this can be a controvecial subject to say the least. Justice is something that is being shouting the loudest in the world , form the Suffragette movement back in the late 19th century to the early 20th century  to the LGBT rights movement of today amongst others movements inbetween. To be overcome with justice take a lot of courage , especially if one attends rallies and such in public. To be overcome means to have a strong feeling of what one deems right for yourself or for the group of people you represent, and demanding those who have done wrong be dealt punishment, be it prison, capital punishment and the like. However there is a thin line of course between demanding justice in a peaceful manner and a violent one. The violent ones are the ones that can have dreadful repercussions for those involved and those who are not , resulting in injuries ans even death in some circu...

Delphic Maxim #6 Know what you have learned

This one is pretty straight forward in what it means. when we learn something , we know it and are therefore able to teach others what we have learned. In other words , If you don't learn or know it how can you be abel to understand it? This is how i understand it. Yet teaching others is also another way of learning. Everyone learns at differnt speeds and in differnt ways. Some people learn by teh following ways active learning (doing) Listening  & writng Reading /studying Many folk including myself learn through doing a specific task in order to learn how to do said task, for example if you are building a house in lego, the easiest way is to either to be shown or do it yourself. Others may be able to just take instruction and know how instantly, yet many find this method difficult and can thus slow ones ability to learn quickly.  it is all about experience. Sure someone can rattle off a textbook back to front , but do they actually know and understadn what they are...

Hymn to Herakles

Image
I sing of the mighty Herakles  hero of mortals and Gods alike Proud son of Thundering Zeus Hear our praises upon this day  Noble and strong you were in your labours, From battling the Nemean Lion to the taming of Cerebus. In all this you taught us that nothing is impossible in life. For you showed great strength, cunning, wit and perserverance  Only to be restored to Godhood and be reunited with the Allfather once again . Tales of your labours and great deeds shall be told throughout the aeons. To give Hope and courage to mankind,  For this we shall always remember thee.  Mighty Herakles  Forever in our hearts and minds as your legacy lives on. HAIL HERAKLES !!

Delphic Maxim#4 Respect Your Parents

Delphic Maxim#4 Respect your Parents This I find another very important virtue to have . We all go through our life having different respect for our parents at different times in our lives, From the time we are born to till the time has ended. Yet what do we learn? We learn that without our parents we would not be here to experience what life has to offer (that can vary too depending on circumstance). while i am not here to teach any parenting advice, these are my own observations when I am out and about my business etc . Times have indeed changed since I was a child and not for the better I might add, it is now very a parent for children to gain the upper hand of their parents and it only takes one phone call from a child, these days because now child protection is tighter than ever.  while i do not condone Child abuse in any form, I do condone discipline and if that means a slight smack on the hand or a good telling off, i'm for it.  If your parents don't allow you to do...

Delphic Maxim #3 Worship the Gods

This one again is very similar to Delphic Maxim #1 , which is Follow God. While I believe it is vital for us to gain a  connection to the Gods , there is a lot of stigma within the Pagan community whether to use the word "worship" as it denotes oppression or submission. While in some religious cultures it will mean that and even in christianity the famous Commandment : "Thou shalt not have any other Gods before Me" is a very hard "submissive commandment in my opinion, yet it is the commandment of the Christian Bible and I respect that , if you are Christian then by all means obey that commandment or whatever you see fit according to your beliefs and religious standing. Yet what I believe to be the meaning of this maxim is to be in connection with them on a spiritual level. Be with them, in their presence, acknowledge them. Some Gods and or Goddesses you may not have a deep connection, but at least acknowledge them in some form, by offering a  prayer of thanks...

Delphic Maxim #2 Obey the Law

Delphic maxim #2 - Obey the Law This Maxim is pretty straight forward and self explanatory, These can be but not limited to the following The laws of your country/state The laws of your parents/elders Laws of the Road School/college/ University Rules and Regulations , be it staff members or students  Social Media - facebook, Youtube, Twitter etc amongst others  In our society there are ever more and more rules being put in and yet our society is still rife with crime, so much so that now our society is becoming a Big Brother society. Of course there is that "free speech" and all that yet you are still being watched , whether it be on a camera, your phone, social media etc. We are always making rules for ourselves yet we rarely follow them ourselves to the letter. when you do not follow the rules or use your common sence it will undoubtedly  place you in prison, put under capital punishment or else you may end up dead or seriously injured , So please use your...
