| ARE YOU LIVING IN THE MATRIX? |
In a world where consumerism and Information Technology is ever changeing to what seems like at the speed of light, we are constantly being subconciously told to "pick up the pace" by manufacturers of mobile companies, computer companies, phone companies, you name it, thy are constantly advertising teh new and latest sthing taht "YOU CAN'T BE WITHOUT!!" Now I know that there are a lot of us who can't stay away from "The Matrix" for more than an hour just to check their Facebook, Twitter or whatever it may be, I feel that we need to wake up and be "Realistic". Sure its alluring and attractive to be that so called hot looking avatar on a social networking site or PS3 Home, but who really is "Real" these days? who really looks like their avatar on scren, how do you know you are not talking to some psychotic masochist trying to win your trust and friendship? With the constant evolvement of Ipads, Ipods, Laptops(in all sizes), computers (in all sizes), it won't be very long till everything is controlled by a computer and very soon films like "The Matrix", "AI", "Tron" etc will more than likely become reality and we shall have to rely on the push of a button to do everything for us like something as switching a light switch in our home from our office computer!
Consumerism is also growing ever higher with cars not lasting for more than a year, break down and you have to get a new one coz the cost of repairing it is the same as buying a new car !! Long gone are the days when thing were "Built to last". Take my dads car for example.. it was bought in 1985 or around that time and although it was old and drove like a tank (no power steering) it lasted well into 2009 (which by then we had to scrap it due to my dad immigrating to his home town in SriLanka. I remember the days when i was still a teenager and everyone in my class was using a computer to do their homework and teachers till awestruck whn i handed them a pice of handwritten...yes handwritten essay! My classmates of course were all on the internet bandwagon and would rant and rave about finding such and such information on this and that website whilst i was still perousing through books for reference on a particular subject to which we had an essay to write Now its just click "like" and "share" or "copy and paste" info form a website...don't bother reading it in a book..."GOOGLE IT". Its the lazy way of doings things nowadays , even teachers just resort to the answer of "GOOGLE IT" just so that they don't have to "waste their breath" and get away with having to "explain" things to their students. Whats the point of becoming a teacher in a school if you are only going to give "GOOGLE IT" as your answer to every student who wants to learn?, but even that is a hard task too as even students just want to be spoonfed answers and not have to use their wisdom or intellect, therefore just end up regurgiting what they saw on GOOGLE onto an exam paper and getting an "A" for it when all the student did was to click a button, copy and paste it and its done, NO reading involved, NO brain activity involved, NOTHING. As long as its relevant to the subject matter at hand , IT HAS TO BE RIGHT!!

| The answer to everything |
The society we now live in is shameful to our beings and it will slowly deteriorate us in more ways than one, if it hasn't already been doing so, which it has. Soon enough future generations are going to be born with and IPad in their hand and will not even know what a Book is !So don't become a slave to the Internet or even your mobile phone coz otherwise we will never be able to rely on what truly makes us worth anything in the universe as THE DOCTOR would say, HUMANS are worth saving because we are resiliant, have the power to survive like no one else can, we spring back when we are knocked down. After all we are only Human and in the words of Optimus prime "they are a young race" and "witnessed their capacity for courage". Coz after all.....
