A Humbled Ones Prayer

Image
Theoi (Gods) Thy are my Parents, my Family I turn to Thee mostly at times of Need & Suffering When that has passed I almost forget Thee Sometimes when I feel caught between Skylla & the Kharybdis I mock Thee, asking Thee why ..? But I suffer because of my own doing O’ Theoi (Gods) Thou have given me life Thou comfort me, Thou never leaves me alone Thou are always there for me In sickness, in pain, in heartache Thou have guided me & gave me strength I am sorry for all the wrongs I’ve made I may not be able to give you offerings, sacrifices nor can I give you libations Sorry if I can’t thank Thee properly I know this prayer is not suitable for Thee O’ Theoi (Gods) in Heaven But I promise Thee, I will always believe… I will always, always believe in Hellenismos Khaire ! Hail & Praise to Thee O’ Theoi (Gods) on High Olympos ! Eternal Honor & Glory to Thee Ancient Gods & Goddesses of Hellas !!!! Khaire to the Gods & Goddesses !! E...

Specific Incense to Offer Specific Olympian Deities in accordance to the Orphic Hymns

Image
So this is something which I found on my Facebook Notes which I thought would be very useful to those practicing Hellenism and a bit stumped on what sorts of incenses to use.     The Orphic Hymns specify particular types of incense to be offered to each deity. In cases where one is saying multiple hymns with differing instructions, one might either choose a single type or make a blend of all those indicated. Pure frankincense makes a good all-purpose offertory incense. The incense specifications from the Orphic text are as follows: Frankincense : Apollon, Ares, Artemis, Asklepios, Bakkhai, Dike, Eos, Hephaistos, Herakles, Hermes, Hygeia, Kouretes, Muses, Nike, Satyros, Silenos, Tethys, Themis, Titans Myrrh : Leto, Nereus, Poseidon Storax : Chthonic Hermes, Dionysos, Eleusinian Demeter, Erines (also frankincense), Graces, Kronos, Semele, Zeus Aromatic Herbs : Adonis, Athena, Eros, Eumenides, Fates, Hera, Hestia, Horai, Nereids, Nymphs, Okea...

Gunpoder Treason and Plot

Image
So I am writing this because I am no fan of the British Government. To be completely honest I am surprised as to why anarchy hasn't even happened yet, because not only are the government not helping those who do need help ie getting employment ratings up, curing fatal illnessses like cancer of all types (which there is a cure, just the government not willing to do research on it)  but also forcing people to use computers (so they can spy on them. Universal Jobmatch being a government run system to keep tabs on those how are looking for jobs based, on how many times they log in to said website so they know who is going to be getting their state benefits (dole money for those across the water). So if you are not keeping your profile up to date by logging in and making notes on how you are finding work , they immediately cut your benefits. I was quite ticked off at this myself, when I was confronted by the lady of my lack of "notes" as they needed evidence to show that ...

Carolyn DeWald Presenting The Ancient Greeks Up close and Personal:Politics, Sex and Gender, and Religion

Image
As you may know I'm a Hellenic Polytheist and I am in the process of trying to teach myself a bit more on the Ancient Greek Culture, Religion and Politics as well as on the  classical literature such as the works of Homer, Aristotle, Plato and Socrates etc. So while surfing Youtube I recently came across a very interesting University lecture presented by Carolyn DeWald who is a lecturer from the Columbia University. She is a Professor of Classical and Historial Studies. Although normally Carolyn doesn't usually do lectures where photos and picture are involved, this lecture she has decided to take photos and pictures from the Ancient Greek pottery and other sources such as Friezes etc.to convey to her audience what she has researched with regards to how the Ancient Greeks lived and what we can learn from them through this lecture. In this lecture she talks about Politics , Sex and Gender and Religion. There are also a few interesting questions at the end of the lecture from...

Updates and other Life stuff

Dear friends, I know I haven't written in quite a while and it is really bad of me I know. Have been kept quite busy around the house and so on , trying to keep it nice and relatively clean as I can make it, but its not easy when a certain someone doesn't like to pick up after himself (you know who you are). So what has been happening in my life lately? I have been going to a and employment adviser at a place called Ingeus and they are very helpful in helping me get a job. They are like an Agency , but then again not as they don't send out your CV's to anyone and everyone, so they are there to help and Support you like giving you advice, point you to the right job hunting websites, help you at mock interviews , do workshops, teach you new I.T Skills etc. In fact they seem to help you much more than the Jobcentre does! I've come to the conclusion that after you pass a certain age group the Jobcentre do not seem to get worked up about getting someone a job and pas y...
